Join us for an evening of inspiring and captivating documentary films. This handpicked series of short films stretches the leading edges of contemporary social, cultural, and environmental issues.
The event is founded on the principle of uplifting those both near and far, and will support two organizations that are both working to create transformative life and educational experiences for youth. The event’s near beneficiary is Foster the Earth, operating from Encinitas, CA, which aims to make the outdoors accessible to all. Mountainfilm on Tour’s far beneficiary is the Jamyang Foundation, which supports educational programs for young women and girls in remote areas of the Himalayas.

Meet Our Encinitas Co-Hosts
Mountainfilm on Tour in Encinitas, CA is hosted by Elizabeth Joy Mueller and Foster the Earth’s very own Sarah Hughen.
Both Sarah and Elizabeth attended the annual Mountainfilm festival in Telluride, Colorado this year and wanted to share the magic of Mountainfilm with more people—especially within their own community of North San Diego County. Unbeknownst to each of them, Sarah and Elizabeth were neighbors and shared the same view of the Pacific Ocean for years, but it wasn’t until their mutual interest in the Mountainfilm festival united them that they became close friends. Co-hosting the first screening of Mountainfilm on Tour in Encinitas in October 2019, Elizabeth and Sarah hope to make this an annual event to bring an inspiring and transformative film experience to their community.
