Who is eligible to participate?
Young adults ages 18-24 who have had limited or no access to nature.
What are the risks involved?
Outdoor travel can be strenuous and demanding. Risks are associated with elements and heavy activity. We do our best to keep everyone free from injury and harm.
Who are the leaders for the program?
The founders of Foster the Earth will be in attendance for all activities along with hired trained leaders who are certified with Wilderness First Responder and First Aid, and CPR.
What if I am not in good shape?
During our application process we assess overall health and fitness levels. While the hikes and week-long trip can be strenuous, we believe everyone is capable of accomplishing it.
Who supplies the gear we need?
Foster the Earth will provide every participant with all the tools and equipment needed to complete the program.
Will it cost me anything?
This is a free, no-cost program. All participants who attend the week-long backpacking trip will be able to keep some of the gear they used so that they can get back out and adventure on their own!
What is the application process?
If you think this is something that you want to know more about, please fill out the brief application and we will get back to you within a week.
What if I get sick or injured while on the trip?
We will have on-hand trained medical leaders as well as an emergency evacuation plan for every outing.
How big are the group sizes?
We limit group sizes to 6 members in order to encourage collaboration, bonding, and teamwork.
