Who is eligible?

Young adults ages 18-24 who have had limited or no access to nature. 

What are the risks involved?

Outdoor travel can be strenuous and demanding. Risk are associated with elements and heavy activity. We do our best to keep everyone free from injury and harm.

Who are the Leader’s for the Program?

The founders of foster the earth will be in attendance for all activities along with hired trained leaders who are all certified with Wilderness First Responder and First Aid, and CPR.

What if I am not in good shape?

During our application process we assess overall health and fitness levels. While the trip can be strenuous we believe everyone can do it.

Who supplies the gear we need?

Foster the Earth will provide every participant with the tools and equipment needed for the program.

Will it cost me anything?

This is a free, no-cost program. All participants who attend the weeklong backpacking trip will be able to keep some of their gear they used in hopes of them getting back out and adventuring on their own!

What is the Application Process?

What if I get sick or injured while on the trip?

We will have on hand trained medical leaders and there will be an emergency evacuation plan for every outing.

How big are the group sizes?

Each year we accept 6 students into each program.
